All wines are vegan right? False. It's down to how the wine is clarified and a process called ‘fining’. All young wines are hazy and contain tiny molecules such as proteins, tartrates, tannins and phenolics. Usually the wines, after some time will self-stabilise and self-fine, but some producers choose to speed the process along by using agents, such as casein (a milk protein), albumin (egg whites), gelatine (animal protein) and isinglass (fish bladder protein), and this is what makes a wine vegan unfriendly! But don't fear, we've got you covered with these amazing vegan wines that make no compromise on flavour.

So, let us begin with a little secret. These vegan English wines are among our very favourites. In fact, we even produced the first bottle ourselves, hence being called No.1. It is 100% Bacchus, England's flagship grape and is, if we do say so ourselves, 100% delicious and great for any occasion. Next up is Sharpham Dart Valley from Devon. A fruity wine and originally came recommended to us by a well known wine-blogger. It has a refreshing acidity and pairs really well with a crisp winters day and a chicken roasting in the oven. The final English Vegan White wine is a special award winning Chardonnay. Not your typical Chardonnay, the smoothness gives it an elegant taste that will be sure to impress whoever you drink it with.

The English reds are next, and we're starting with the delightful Shotley Pinot Noir red from Suffolk, gorgeous. This has a beautiful aromas and is as delicious as it smells. Next is the Whitehall Nethercote Hlil from Wiltshire. A combination of two red grape varieties this wine is medium bodied in style and perfect for a good hearty dish or a big Sunday Roast. Lastly is our most popular red, Winbirri Signature from Norfolk. Smooth, fun, has fantastic plum fruity flavours and an oaked Rioja finish which makes it difficult to put down.
