The Writtle Wrange

A mixed case put together for people who live here. Same wine we sell to everyone else, at a lower price, because you're coming to collect it.

Delivery is the expensive part of what we do. Boxes, couriers, fuel, the occasional breakage. When you walk in and pick your case up off the counter, none of that happens, so there's no reason for you to pay for it. We've taken it off the price instead.

The wines change. We pick what's drinking well, what's just landed, and what we can't stop recommending across the counter, so no two Wranges are quite the same. What doesn't change is the price and the standard. Every case is chosen by the people who pour it, and nothing goes in that we wouldn't open at home.

Order online, choose Writtle collection at checkout, and the local price applies. We'll have it boxed and ready.

In the case this month

English Bacchus, East Anglia. England's own grape, and one of the best arguments for cool climate wine. Floral on the nose, fresh cut grass and bright citrus underneath. Crisp, aromatic, and just as happy on a Tuesday as at a dinner party.

Rosé, Mont Ventoux, Provence. Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah off sandy soils. Pale pink, red berries, a lift of citrus, and a finish that disappears faster than you'd like. Elegant without making a fuss about it.

Grenache Red, Mont Ventoux, Provence. Old vines, some over a hundred years, picked slightly late for depth. Dark berries, ripe cherry and savoury spice, with a velvety texture holding it all together. Bold, but easy company.
