What do they say?
Our Ortega rosé is fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to retain freshness and purity. For this rosé we’ve co-fermented with ripe regent grapes to add notes of bright red crunchy fruit.
What does the English Vine say?
Mateus rosé, you have a lot too apologise for. You have ruined the colour of rosé for a generation. For rosé do not always have to be a pale pink, in fact they can be a vibrant colour that stands out, gets noticed and is wonderful to drink. This is what the Westwell winemakers have done here. It is not just the colour that is bold and bright but also the taste. This rosé is not for the faint hearted and those that like your standard rosé, this wouldn't necessarily be our immediate recommendation. However, if you're looking for something different, something off the beaten track and fancy trying a rosé with a difference, then this is well worth it.
